No. We want to make it as easy as possible for you. Please remove all personal belongings from the vehicle and leave the keys and the title in the glove compartment. That’s it.

The towing company will give you a temporary receipt at the time of pick-up. It will have all your vehicle’s information along with our name and phone number. We ask you to notify us once the vehicle is picked up, then we will mail you the tax-deductible receipt.

Make a Difference Cars will have your vehicle picked up as quickly as possible. A local towing company will be in touch to schedule a pickup within 24 hours after you contact us. The pickup is scheduled for usually for 24 to 48 hours later. We will do our best to accommodate you if you need your vehicle picked up sooner.

Yes. We can pick up your vehicle at almost any location. A different state, at a mechanic shop, roadside, etc., etc. 

The tax deduction you can claim is based on the value or sales price of the vehicle. The IRS allows you to claim one of the following tax deductions.

1. If your vehicle sells for less than $500: The fair market value of your vehicle, is up to $500.
2. If your vehicle sells for more than $500: The amount we sell your vehicle for. Make A Difference Cars will send you a tax-deductible receipt that will reflect that amount.

The Make A Difference team will evaluate your vehicle to determine how to receive the best sales price of the vehicle or real estate. There are many factors to consider, including year, make, model, mileage of vehicle, and local market conditions. It is mutually in our best interest to sell the car for the most we can.

Make a Difference Cars will send a tax-deductible receipt in the mail approximately three (3) to six (6) weeks after donating your vehicle. You will also receive a temporary receipt when your vehicle is picked up.

Please remove the license plate once the tow truck arrives and return them to the DMV.  In the states of California, Illinois, Arizona, Minnesota, and Washington you must also turn in a release of liability to the DMV. In Minnesota, Washington, and Illinois, this form is called a Report of Sale. In Hawaii and Alaska you need to complete and return a Notice of Vehicle Sale. The transfer form is attached to the bottom of your title. On these forms please fill in our name and address: Make A Difference Cars, 777 Main Street USA. For the vehicle purchase price field, please put in “donation”.
